Top student music talent showcased in scholarship recital
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- Mount Vernon Nazarene University will present some of the 2007-08 music scholarship recipients in recital on Thursday, March 27, at 7:30 p.m.
This free event will take place in Thorne Performance Hall in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Fine Arts Center, and a reception will follow.
The concert will feature several instrumental and vocal performances in a variety of musical styles. Participants include:
Sara Abrasheff is a freshman music major from Madison, Ohio. She studies flute with Dr. Emily Butterfield and plays in Chamber Winds and Pep Band.
Trevor Allen is a junior Spanish education major from Bristolville, Ohio. He studies voice with Virginia Cameron and sings in Collegians Chorale.
Chris Gherman is a junior music major from Marion, Ohio. He studies composition with Dr. Geri Rosser and plays in Jazz Band.
Adam Jansen is a junior music major from Mansfield, Ohio. He studies percussion with Aaron Bishara and plays in Symphonic Wind Ensemble.
Tammy Lahrmer is a freshman early childhood education major from Columbus, Ohio. She studies percussion with Aaron Bishara, plays in Symphonic Wind Ensemble and sings in Collegians Chorale.
Trevor Lanz is a freshman children’s ministries major from Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va. He studies percussion with Aaron Bishara and plays in Symphonic Wind Ensemble.
Zachary McMorrow is a sophomore nursing major from Coshocton, Ohio. He studies piano improvisation with Dr. Geri Rosser and participates in Jazz Band.
Derrick Meyer is a freshman music major from Spencerville, Ohio. He studies saxophone with Colleen Tryon and participates in Jazz Band and Symphonic Wind Ensemble.
Andrew Pugh is a freshman math major / music minor from Mansfield, Ohio. He studies voice with Virginia Cameron and participates in Collegians Chorale.
Emily Smith is a sophomore music major from Portsmouth, Ohio. She currently studies voice with Virginia Cameron and participates in Collegians Chorale and Goliards Chamber Ensemble.
Sarah Woodring is a sophomore music major from Burbank, Ohio. She studies voice with Dr. David Liles and participates in Collegians Chorale and Goliards Chamber Ensemble.
