MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- Mount Vernon Nazarene University is proud to welcome Dr. Robert Inchausti as the featured lecture artist on Tuesday, Oct.16 at 7:30 p.m. in Thorne Performance Hall in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium.

This event, “Imagination and the Kingdom of God,” is free and open to the public.

Inchausti's bookInchausti is a renowned author of several books. The Ignorant Perfection of Ordinary People was nominated for a National Book Award by its publisher. His Spitwad Sutras: Classroom Teaching as Sublime Vocation is used in teacher education courses across the country.

His other works include Thomas Merton’s American Prophecy and Subversive Orthodoxy: Outlaws, Revolutionaries, and Others Christians in Disguise. He has also written numerous essays which have appeared in publications such as Christianity Today, American, The Christian Century, The Shambhala Sun and Deepening the American Dream.

Inchausti completed his undergraduate work at Sacramento State University and later received a Ph. D. in English from the University of Chicago. He recently appeared in Morgan Atkinson’s documentary film “Soul Searching.”
