Honorary Alumni Dr. and Mrs. Wayne Reno
MVNC was fortunate to have as a part of its family, Dr. and
Mrs. Wayne Reno. For over 11 years, Dr. Reno served on the faculty
as a much loved professor of psychology. During those years,
he was also director of testing, and chairman of the department
of psychology, sociology and social work. As an accomplished
organist, he served frequently as a substitute organist in various
churches in the community, including Mount Vernon First Church
of the Nazarene. He and his wife, Pat, were also facilitators
at Marriage Enrichment seminars throughout Ohio and Indiana.
Since retiring, Dr. and Mrs. Reno have moved to Grove City, Ohio,
where Dr. Reno is involved at the Grove City Church of the Nazarene
as adult Sunday school teacher and pianist. As professor emeritus
in psychology, he occasionally teaches classes in psychology
and education at MVNC. Dr. Reno says of his time at MVNC, "It
was a pleasure to teach students and be a part of students' lives."
Mrs. Patricia (Pat) Reno was a smiling and helpful personality
in the MVNC library for ten years. While raising their four daughters,
Mrs. Reno was also busy as a Sunday school teacher, Sunday School
board member, choir member, and council member of the MVNC Women's
Auxiliary. Now that she and Dr. Reno live in Grove City, she
is busy once again, as a kindergarten boys Sunday school teacher,
substitute teacher at Grove City Christian School, and volunteer
at the school library.
Dr. and Mrs. Reno, along with Professor Judy Chesnut, were honored
at the class of 1999 graduation banquet as honorary alumna of
MVNC.
