Spring Break Travels to Hungary

Dr. Paul Mayle, his wife, Ruth, and eight students from a variety of majors spent spring break in Hungary on a work and witness trip. The students were involved in a several activities. They helped paint over graffiti at a school, visited elementary school classrooms, played basketball, worked at a crisis center, all the while making new Hungarian friends.

Jessica Becker, sophomore, elementary education major was able to practice some of her teaching skills on the trip. She observed that there was a freedom to talk about Christianity in the schools. She was able to incorporate Bible stories into the lessons she taught. "The children were eager to learn," said Jessica.

The group worshiped with the Nazarenes in Budapest the first day they were in Hungary. Jessica commented, "They surrounded us and prayed with us and for us, it was very special". Darcie Hoberg, a freshman, integrated language arts education major, said about her trip, "God taught me how big He really is and that He is at work everywhere."
