Biggs Named New Director of Master of Arts in Education Program at MVNU
MOUNT VERNON , Ohio - Amy Biggs has been named director of Master of Arts in Education Licensure and Assessment for the Adult and Graduate Studies program at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
In her new role, Biggs will oversee the development of all aspects of the master’s in education program including the improvement of curriculum and the implementation of new programs. She will work closely with the Vice President of Adult and Graduate Studies, Dr. Randall K. Wells, and the School of Education and Professional Studies’ leadership.
An advocate of higher education and a dedicated educator herself, Biggs believes in the quality of MVNU’s education program. “We produce excellent educators here at MVNU,” said Biggs. “I would be happy to have my own children taught by our graduates.”
“One of the outstanding features of MVNU’s education program,” continued Biggs, “is our student-centered focus that models for our students how we hope they will interact with their own students someday.”
Biggs currently attends Ashland University and anticipates completing her doctorate in educational leadership in May 2006. She also completed both her Master of Arts in Education and her Bachelor of Science in Education at Ashland University.
Biggs lives in Apple Valley with her husband Eric, and is the daughter of Stan and Fran Kempton of Mount Vernon, Ohio.
