____ Adult and Graduate Studies' History

MVNU first offered its Bachelor of Business Administration degree program to 22 students in 1993. By 1995, the University had added a second campus at Polaris Parkway in Columbus. Today, more than 1,300 students are enrolled in AGS.

To accommodate this growth, MVNU now has nine campuses located in: Mount Vernon, Cincinnati, Columbus-Polaris, Gahanna, Grove City, Lima, Mansfield, Marion and Newark. New programs have also been added including an associate degree; graduate degrees in education, ministry and management; and certificate programs in education and ministry.

In order to remain competitive in adult education, AGS continually re-evaluates its program offerings to respond to the constantly changing needs of adult students. The goal is, “to develop a growth plan that addresses the needs of the non-traditional student while still staying true to the mission of the University,” said Rev. Tim Eades, associate vice president for University Marketing and Adult and Graduate Studies Enrollment Management.

Partnerships with community colleges are another valuable part of the program. MVNU currently has articulation agreements with North Central State College, Central Ohio Technical College, Marion Technical College and Rhodes State College. These agreements allow students to transition easily from earning their associate degree at a two-year institution to completing their bachelor’s at MVNU.

Though growth takes a paramount effort, there is no shortage of innovative ideas allowing MVNU’s Adult and Graduate Studies to expand across Ohio. In noting how far the University has come since 1993, it is equally exciting to ponder its bright future.
