Mount Vernon Nazarene University: Life Changing
Test Center Services for Students

The Test Center serves individual students through administering several types of examinations. Please contact the Test Center (x4230 or e-mail testcenter@mvnu.edu) to get additional information and to schedule appointments.

  • Make-up examinations necessitated by class absences when requested and authorized by the instructor of the course. The student must make arrangements to have the instructor provide the testing materials to the Test Center in advance of the make-up examinations.

  • Missed general education core testing (junior test) or end-of-program testing in the major (senior test)

  • Diagnostic or placement tests

  • College Level Examination Program (CLEP, http://clep.collegeboard.org/) or DSST College Credit Examinations (http://www.getcollegecredit.com/). Both are computer-based and scores are available immediately following the testing. Please refer to the university catalog for details on tests available, fees, and credit awarded (http://www.mvnu.edu/catalog/1112/college-level-examination-program.htm and http://www.mvnu.edu/catalog/1112/clep.htm). There is an administration fee, test fee, and transcription fee for these two exams.

  • Residual ACT testing is available each spring and summer. To be eligible to take the R-ACT, a student must be enrolled, admitted or have applied to the University and been unable to take the ACT on a regularly scheduled national test date because of deadlines. These R-ACT scores are only valid at MVNU and will not be sent to any other university. Score results are generally available within 2 days following testing by contacting the Admissions Office. See http://gotomvnu.com/residual for more information.

  • Spanish Proficiency Examinations

  • On-line or correspondence course examinations for students enrolled in distance education programs from other universities. Prior authorization is required to ensure the Test Center will be approved to administer the examination. For non-MVNU students there will be an administration fee. You may need to provide the appropriate information for your distance learning university. See the following example on proctor information
