On November 2, 2012, the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Board of Trustees elected
Dr. Henry Spaulding as the 7th president of MVNU. Spaulding, who has been serving as MVNU's Interim President since July, also served as Provost and Chief Academic Officer under the previous administration.

It is with great pleasure and genuine enthusiasm that I announce the appointment of Henry Spaulding as the 7th president of Mount Vernon Nazarene University. The MVNU Search Committee and Board of Trustees came to the unanimous conclusion that Dr. Spaulding is the ideal person to lead MVNU as we continue to live out our vision to change the world with the love of Christ.
Dr. Spaulding's academic experience and credentials speak for themselves. He has served as a professor, dean, and provost at a number of distinguished institutions, and his leadership as Provost and Interim President at MVNU has been marked by significant accomplishment. Perhaps most importantly, he is well-respected by those with whom he works, and he exhibits a keen understanding and appreciation for MVNU's unique mission and culture.
I truly believe that the future of Mount Vernon Nazarene University is bright and full of promise. Dr. Spaulding has spent his career serving -- and shaping -- Nazarene higher education. I am confident that he will be a visionary leader who will continue to guide MVNU in pursuit of academic excellence within a community of faith and service.
