Frequently Asked Questions

The State of Ohio limits funding of CCP courses to 30 credit hours per calendar year. Any hours over the 15 hours/semester will be charged to the student at the college set tuition rate, which is subject to change annually. This year’s tuition rate can be found here.

Important note:

CCP credits are calculated in the following manner:
  • Each college credit hour earned counts as one CCP credit
  • Each high school credit you earn subtracts 3 CCP credits from your total allotment of 30 CCP credits annually.

We know this may be confusing, so here is an example to help:

If a student is taking 2 course/secondary units at their high school, then they are only eligible for 24 CCP credits.

   30 Total CCP Credits Allotment

– 3 High School Class 1

– 3 High School Class 2

24 Remaining CCP Credits that can be used at a college

Yes, if your high school does not have a formal relationship with MVNU, you can still participate in the CCP program.

The CCP program only covers students who are Ohio residents. Homeschool and Christian school students are eligible for limited funding. The state has not yet disclosed how much money will be allotted for these students but has indicated that every qualified student should receive at least one class free of charge. This is not a guarantee, but it certainly makes it worth your time to apply and request funding.

The process is as follows:

  • Fill out MVNU’s CCP application
  • Fill out the state’s Letter of Intent found in the forms section of this page by April 1. This can be emailed to or mailed to the Ohio Department of Education, 25 South Front St., Columbus, OH 43215.

Once CCP funding runs out, students and families can choose to participate in our Family Pay program at a greatly discounted cost of 1/4 of our regular tuition. In addition, we offer a variety of Summer Learn Classes at $200/Credit Hour that you can also choose to take advantage of.

Currently all in-seat classes available to you take place at MVNU’s main campus, but we are in active conversations with a few Christian High Schools and hope to expand those opportunities for the 2016–2017 school year. If your school would like to discuss these possibilities with us, please have them contact us at
