Mount Vernon Nazarene University
Students can apply to participate in a number of off-campus study (OCS) opportunities and earn academic credit. To participate, students must complete an application process, pay a non-refundable application fee and receive be approved for OCS. OCS programs outside of MVNU will require a separate application and approval process. More information is available on the portal: http://my.mvnu.edu. The deadline for applying for OCS is December 1 in the year prior to the experience.
Students should contact the Student Accounts Office for cost information as tuition, room, board, fees and travel costs vary with each program. Students should also consult with the Financial Aid Office as some financial aid is limited for OCS and there are outside awards available for which students may wish to apply http://www.gotomvnu.com/preparing/private.asp.
Students interested in participating in an OCS program must first make application (available online) to the Off-Campus Study Committee (OCSC) by the specified deadline. A non-refundable fee must accompany the application. Upon timely receipt of the application and its associated references, the OCSC will determine the appropriateness of the experience for the student by considering factors such as (but not limited to) GPA, behavioral experience, and major requirements. The OCSC represents the final authority as to whether a student will be allowed to participate in an OCS experience; hence, there is no path for appeal.
