Grade Appeals

When a student has a question about a course grade, s/he should first seek a solution with the course instructor. If a satisfactory resolution cannot be reached, then the student may file a written appeal with the school dean within 30 days of the issuance of the grade. The student's appeal must include all correspondence and evidence related to all previous actions and appeals. The school dean (in consultation with the department chair, if necessary) will respond in writing within 10 working days.

If the student is not satisfied with the decision of the school dean, then s/he may appeal the decision in writing to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs within 10 working days of receipt of the school dean's written decision. The student's appeal must include all correspondence and evidence related to all previous actions and appeals. The Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs will issues a decision within 10 working days of receipt of the appeal. The decision is final and cannot be appealed.
