	Ed Key (’84) and wife Marie have three sons, Joshua, David and Daniel, and reside in Columbus, Ga.
	Chaplain (LTC) Dan Burris (’89) has been activated with the Ohio Army National Guard for his second tour overseas. He is serving in OIF as the brigade chaplain for the 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. Dan and his wife Brenda (Thomas ’89) have five children, ages 9-17, and reside in Vandalia, Ohio. Dan had to step down from pastoring the Vandalia Church of the Nazarene when he was called to duty.
	Michelle Goodrich (’93) is a child welfare social worker in Maryland. She is also mother to daughter Hope (5).
	Steve Payton (’96) and wife Melissa announce the birth of twins Andrew Jacob and Allison Nicole, born prematurely at 30 weeks. Steve is a financial advisor at Ohio Christian University and Melissa is a 7th grade teacher at Zane Trace in Chillicothe, Ohio.
	Dieter Schade (’97 AGS) and wife Lucy have moved to Berlin, Germany, to work with “The Rock” church through Great Commission Ministries. You can read their blog at germanators.blogspot.com.
	Heidi Asher (’98), of Piqua, Ohio, married Abraham Garrett of Crossville, Tenn., on June 24, 2006.
	Joshua (’98) and Emily (Hinz ’98) Dyer announce the birth of Brandt Thomas on July 14, 2007. He was welcomed by big brothers Evan (5) and Eli (3). Josh graduated with honors from Liberty University in May 2007 with an MBA and works for Bedford Public Schools as their controller/director of business and auxiliary services. Emily is a stay-at-home mom.
	Rich (’99) and Beth (Radke ’99) Hostettler were married in June of 2000 and have two children, Luke (4) and Abby (2). Rich works with computers and networking, and Beth is a stay-at-home mom.
	Matthew (’00) and Dr. Jennifer (Kelley ’00) Sertell welcomed Isaac Daniel on Oct. 7, 2007. Jennifer just opened Sertell Chiropractic Clinic, LLC in January 2008.
	Ben Van Alstine (’00) and wife Carrie announce the birth of Lyla Grace on Feb. 28, 2008. Ben is a sales account manager for Enterprise Marketing Group. Carrie has been a teacher at Hamilton Southeastern High School for eight years, but is now a stay-at-home mom and operates her own photography business. The family resides in Indianapolis.
	Loretta Woods (’01) celebrated the birth of Larissa Elaine on Feb. 7, 2007.
	Travis Snow (’02) and wife Staci announce the birth of Dylan Michael on March 28, 2007.
	Sara (Bumpus ’03) and Wes Brothers celebrated the birth of first child Emma Jean on April 17, 2008. Both Sara and Wes work at Ohio Christian University in Circleville, Ohio.
	Mikala (Bost ’03) and Rob Polca welcomed first child Anna Elisabeth on Nov. 26, 2007. Mikala and Rob both teach in the Mason City School District. The family resides in Maineville, Ohio.
	Josh Petersen (’04) celebrated his first Gold Record for sales of over 500,000 with the album “Flyleaf.” The album just went platinum with over 1 million in sales, for which he will receive his Platinum Record later this year. Working for Centricity Records in Nashville, Josh did all the marketing for this album.
	Rob Ulis (’07) and Angelica Wells were married on Feb. 23, 2008 at the Wapakoneta Church of the Nazarene. Presiding over the ceremony were Rev. Ward Lewis (’05 MMin), current Wapakoneta pastor, and Rev. Stephen Smitley (’94 MMin), former Wapakoneta pastor.
	Joshua (’07) and Elizabeth (Dobyns ’07) Van Pelt announce the birth of Mikel Joshua on Nov. 17, 2007. The couple resides in Mount Vernon.

	Todd (’89) and Rebecca (Fair ’90) Hayes adopted Chloe Sue Cheng. They returned home to Ohio from Beijing on Nov. 15, 2007.
	Tamra (Martin ’90) Yinger received her master’s degree in education from Antioch McGregor University in June 2007. She currently teaches fifth grade for Springfield City Schools. She and her husband Jeff have three children, Mandalyn (12), Jeff (9) and Annika (7).
	Rodney (’92) and Kathy (Copus ’92) Austin welcomed adopted daughter Jasmine Belle into their family on April 10, 2007. She was born on May 29, 2006. rodneyandkathy@yahoo.com

	Cathy (Kovacs ’96) and Jason Vaughn celebrated the birth of Noah Smith on Sept. 12, 2007. The family resides in Akron, Ohio.
	Chuck (’00) and Sarah (Scott ’98) Buerkle announce the birth of Joshua William on Aug. 23, 2007. He was welcomed by siblings Scott and Elizabeth. The family resides in Newark, Ohio, where Sarah teaches second grade at Licking Heights School.
	Sara (Parsons ’99) and Daniel Witherow welcome Kortney Elizabeth on July 14, 2007. She joins big siblings Nichole (5) and Matthew (2). The family resides in Buckley, Mich., where Daniel is the pastor of Faith Community Church of the Nazarene and Sara is a stay-at-home mom and works from home part time for Summit Ministries.
	David (’01) and Kristi (Romanok ’00) Jarvis celebrated the birth of son Landon David on Sept. 5, 2007. David recently completed his executive master’s of business administration and Kristi recently finished her master’s in education administration and supervision. The family resides in Venice, Fla.
	J. (’00) and Ashley (Hausman ’03) Maier announce the birth of their first child, Adon John, on Nov. 17, 2007. The family resides in Warren, Pa., where J. is youth pastor at Warren First Church and Ashley is a veterinary technician.
	Jason (’01) and Erin (Connor ’00) Moorman welcomed Danielle Christine on Aug. 2, 2007. She joins big sister Grace.
	Amanda (Spiaggi ’01) and Michael Conn welcomed their first child, Micah Glenn, on April 24, 2007. Amanda is a middle school special education teacher at Buckeye Valley and Michael, an electronic engineer for a Belgium-based company.
	Amanda (Lahrmer ’01) and Chris Copeland welcomed Ella Patricia on Dec. 11, 2007. Amanda teaches seventh-grade special education at New Albany Middle School. The family resides in Gahanna, Ohio.
	Rob (’02) and Lindsey (Hughes ’03) Musick welcomed first child Moriah Hope on Oct. 5, 2007. The family recently moved to India where they serve with the Advent Christian Church and attend the University of Madras.
	Joel (’04) and Bethany (Anderson ’05) Nussbaum announce the birth of Jackson Pete on Aug. 29, 2007.

	Scott Couchenour (’87) is a life balance and self-care coach to individuals in the people-helping professions. His Web site is www.servingstrong.com.
	David Brown (’89) recently accepted the position of lead associate pastor for Public Worship at the Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene in York, Penn. He graduated from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 2006 with a Master of Divinity. He is married to Deborah (Hancock ’93) and they have three children: Moriah, Isaac and Joel.
	Wendy (Rader ’95) and Chad Owens announce the birth of Caden Jace on June 28, 2007. He joins big sister Brielle (4). Chad is a district manager for Alvin’s Jewelers and Wendy is a stay-at-home mom. The Owens are also part-time missionaries with Antioch Ministries through which they raise support for existing ministries and needs overseas. The family resides in Elyria, Ohio.
	Robert Reed (’97) and wife Julie welcomed Joshua Wilson on February 14, 2007. He joined big brother Isaac Lewis (6). Julie works in the nursing field at a VA facility and Robert is a professor of sociology and general education at Anthem College. He is working toward completing a doctorate of education. The family resides in Phoenix, Ariz
	Chelsey Corwin (’00) married Andy Garrett on April 28, 2007. Andy is a 2005 graduate of Franklin University. Both are employed at Athletes in Action’s headquarters in Xenia, Ohio. Andy has been an assistant IT director for two years and Chelsey, the assistant Ministry Training Center director for seven years.
	Bob (’01) and Ashli (Harper ’01) Goetzman welcomed son Tyler James on March 9, 2007. Bob works as an inventory analyst at Cardinal Health, and Ashli is a stay-at-home mom studying medical transcription. The family resides in Lewis Center, Ohio.
	Jerry Suarez (’01), formerly of North Carolina, is now teaching eighth-grade social studies at the Karachi American School in Karachi, Pakistan. He has a mixture of American and Pakistani students.
	Kyle (’02) and Becky (Thalheim ’02) Tocheff welcomed daughter, Madelyn Grace, on July 15, 2007.
	Todd (’03) and Rebekah (Graves ’03) Bowman announce the birth of Ethan Boyd on Aug. 22, 2007. The family resides in Kansas City where Todd is finishing his Ph.D. in psychology.
	Jeremy Parsons (’04) and Tara Koontz (’03) were married on Aug. 25, 2007, in Washington, Penn. Jeremy is an associate producer for “Secret’s Out with Leonard Maltin” in Los Angeles, and Tara is in graduate school for nutrition at UCLA. Several MVNU alumni were included in the wedding party: Kevin Myers (’04), Nathan Bazler (’05), Sara Sproul (’03), Josh Petersen (’03), Adriane Koontz (’05), Nick Miller (’04), Tim (’03) and Brittany (Dodds) Barenscheer and Jeremy Hilen (’04).
	Jodi (Lyle ’05) and Les Snodgrass announce the birth of son Logan Michael on April 22, 2007. He joins sister Abigail (2). They recently moved to Edwards Air Force Base in California where Less will attend Test Pilot School. Jodi is a stay-at-home mom.
	David (’06) and Stephanie (Carpenter ’07) Jenkins welcomed son Bryce Michael on May 26, 2006. The couple resides in Lewis Center, Ohio, where David works as a route manager at TruGreen ChemLawn and Stephanie is a stay-at-home mom.
	Teresa Diefenbacher (’07) married Bobby Bowden (’07) on Aug. 4, 2007, at Springdale Nazarene Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. The couple resides in Mount Vernon.

Mount Vernon Now - Fall 2007

	Marlene (’85) Custer and husband John returned to Ohio in June 2006 after spending two years with Nazarene Mission Corps: one at the Maetang Tribal Children’s Home where Marlene taught English and both served as missionaries, and another in Manila, the Philippines, where she taught second grade at Faith Academy and John worked in the business office at Asia Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary. The Custers welcome opportunities to speak about their mission experiences.
	Diana Flood (’93) married Bill Ackland on June 23, 2006. The couple resides in Milford, Ohio, where Bill is a project geologist for SRW Environmental and Diana teaches fourth grade in the Norwood City School District.
	Amy McKellogg (’98) married Scott William Brown on April 7, 2007. She works as a Title I teacher for Liberty Local Schools, and Scott is a child therapist for Associates in Counseling and Child Guidance in Sharon, Pa. The couple resides in Warren, Ohio.
	Casey (’00) and Holley (Bente ’99) Tygrett welcomed their first child, daughter Bailey Harp, on May 10, 2007. She weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz. and measured 21 inches in length. Casey is the preaching minister at Emden Christian Church and an adjunct professor at Lincoln Christian College and Seminary, where he began his doctoral studies in summer 2007. Holley is the director of Human Resources at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. The family resides in Illinois.
	David (’00) and Brandy (Martin ’00) Byard announce the birth of Maddux David on Feb. 14, 2007. He weighed 9 lbs. 11 oz. and was 22 inches long. Parker (6) attends Victory Christian Academy. The family resides in Valparaiso, Ind., where Brandy is a claims injury specialist for Progressive Insurance and David is playing his eighth year of minor league baseball for the Gary Railcats.
	Mark (’01) and Ellyn (Crouch ’01) Boynton welcomed their first child, Annamarie Brooke, on Dec. 2, 2006. She weighed 7 lbs. 3.5 oz. and is doing great. mboynton@localnet.com
	Coy (’01) and Brooklyn (’01) Lindsey celebrated the birth of daughter Kirra Jaide on March 11, 2007. Brooklyn recently submitted a manuscript of her first book to Zondervan Publishers. A book for teenage girls, it is expected to be published in March 2008..
	Amy Turner (’01) moved back to Ohio from California after earning her master’s degree in social work at California State University Long Beach in 2006. She married Josh Geforos on April 28, 2007.
	Sarah Gemmel (’02) married Dave Miller on July 16, 2006, at Bay Presbyterian Church in Bay Village, Ohio. Sarah is the assistant choir director at Elyria High School and teaches elementary band at Franklin Elementary in Elyria. She also serves as accompanist for the Promise Choir at Bay Presbyterian. Dave is employed as the director of Distance Learning for the Educational Service Center of Lorain County. They reside in Avon Lake.
	Matt (’04) and Jeni (Vanderhoof ’04) Bradley welcomed Logan Breanna on June 15, 2007. She weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz. and measured 18 inches. The family resides in Mount Vernon.

Mount Vernon Now - Summer 2007

	Larry (’77) and Pamela (Conner ’76) Allen traveled to Germany for Christmas 2006 to visit their son Anthony (attended ’01-’02), who is stationed in Grafenwoehr and works in military intelligence. The Allens’ daughter, Kamela Owen, is a 2003 graduate. Larry serves as a pastor in Batavia, Ohio, and Pamela is a school librarian at A.D. Owens Elementary School.
	Ray (’83) and Diane (Skelton ’77) Bridges manage the largest boarding kennel in Indianapolis. In the fall of 2006, it was presented with the Ethics in Business Award by the Better Business Bureau. This award was given to only three businesses in the 46-county area of central Indiana. Their love for animals exceeds only their love for the Indianapolis Colts. They traveled to the ProBowl in February after Ray won the trip by being named the “DISH Network Ultimate Football Fan.”
	Tim (’92) and Dawn (Boutwell ’91) Pressler announce the birth of Kennedy Rose on Feb. 28, 2006.
	Frank Tremblay (’95) and his wife Cindy adopted their first child—newborn Robert Jayson, who weighed 8 lbs. 11 oz. and measured 19.75 inches in length.
	Douglas (’99) and Melissa (Prater ’99) Rex announce the birth of Lauren Grace on July 20, 2005, who joins big brother Caleb James (3). Douglas is completing the fourth year of his general surgery residency at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. The family attends Parkview Church of the Nazarene.
	Tony Collins (’00) finished his medical degree in 2004 and is now preparing for his last year of residency as an emergency room physician. He married Ann E. Ronan of Hudson, Ohio, on December 30, 2006, a nurse and 2003 graduate of Malone College. The couple resides in Akron and plans to combine their careers for future overseas work.
	Ben (’01) and Lisa (Hernandez ’00) Huguenin welcomed Blake Anthony on Dec. 6, 2006, weighing in at 7 lbs. 10 oz and measuring 20.5 inches. Ben is a software engineer at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and Lisa is a stay-at-home mom. The family resides in Mt. Airy, Md., and is active within the Mt. Airy Bible Church.
	April (Sietman ’00) Litman and her husband Kevin welcomed their first child, Elijah Alexander, on Nov. 21, 2006. He weighed 8 lbs. 10 oz. and was 20 inches long. April is a stay-at-home mom and Kevin is an information systems coordinator for the city of Grove City, Ohio.
	Josh (’00) and Autumn (Platter ’00) Mann announce the birth of Caleb Richard on Dec. 19, 2006, weighing 7 lbs. 3 oz. Little Caleb joins big brother Cameron (3).
	Amy (Fawcett ’00) Schlepp and her husband Jason welcomed Digory James on Oct. 19, 2006. He joins big brother Jaron Lee. The family resides in Olathe, Kan., where Amy is a stay-at-home mom and part-time editorial assistant for Holiness Today magazine.
	Kerry Arthurs (’02) and Gabe Bocook were wed on July 15, 2006. Kerry earned a master’s degree in education with a concentration in library media from Marshall University in August 2006. She teaches first grade at Charles Russell Elementary in Ashland, Ky. Gabe works for Community Trust Bank. The couple resides in Ashland, Ky.
	Rodney (’02) and Krista (Reynolds ’02) Clutter announce the birth of their first child, Adrian Lynn, on Dec. 3, 2006, who weighed 6 lbs. 4 oz. The couple resides in Howard, Ohio.
	Nate Klaiber (’03) and his wife Tessa welcomed Arden Esek on Jan. 21, 2007. He weighed 6 lbs. 7.5 oz., and measured 19 inches in length.
	Andy (’03) and Melinda (Myers ’03) Ruth announce the birth of Madelyn Jane on June 28, 2006. She weighed 8 lbs. 5 oz. The family resides in Marion, Ohio.
	Michaela Strine (’05) married Trent Burbury, Nov. 25, 2006.
	Tamera Jackson (BBA Group 165, ’07) works for the State of Ohio as a labor relations liaison.

	Joan (Downs ’89) and Steve Gocking announce the birth of Nathan Stephen on Sept. 12, 2006.
	Tina (Daniels ’90) and Rich Campbell announce the birth of Adam Dean on Jan. 17, 2006, weighing 7 lbs. 2 oz. and measuring 21 inches in length. The Campbells reside in Westerville, Ohio. Tina is a dental hygienist and Rich is a stay-at-home dad.
	David (’96) and Carina (Hilbert ’97) Gunnerson are grateful for their church family at St. Elias Orthodox Church who have helped them through a stressful year. Carina faced surgery on what may have been kidney cancer while David is in the process of changing jobs to work in a better internal medicine practice. Their children, Anna (6) and Stephen (4), are doing well, however. (Photo shows Stephen meeting Gov. Granholm.)
	Jeremy (’97) and Andrea (Ware ’98) Farnham welcomed their first child, Amara Rose, on May 1, 2006. She weighed 6 lbs 14 oz. and measured 20.5 inches. The family resides in Morgantown, W.Va., where Andrea is a social worker at West Virginia University Hospital and Jeremy is a pharmaceutical representative for Sanofi-aventis Pharmaceuticals.
	Michelle Stivers (’98) married Robert Eick on May 13, 2006. They reside in Cleveland, Ohio, where Michelle works at Case Western Reserve University and Robert is a student at Case.
	Nick (’00) Hershberger and wife Ashlie welcomed Hannah Marie on Sept. 9, 2006. She weighed 5 lbs. 9 oz., and was 18.5 inches long. Nick is a systems designer at Ontario Systems in Berlin, Ohio, and Ashlie is a clinical nursing instructor at Malone College in Canton, Ohio. They reside in Sugarcreek, Ohio.
	Beth Lauinger (’00) married Eric Rutter on Nov. 4, 2006, in Zanesville, Ohio. The couple resides in Newark, Ohio, where Beth is a Help Me Grow service coordinator.
	Heather (Bell ’01) and Theron League welcomed son Parker Hadyn on July 18, 2006. He weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz., and was 18.5 inches long. They reside in Kansas City, Mo., where Heather is a financial analyst for a financial law firm and Theron is attending Nazarene Theological Seminary.
	Melanie (Guy ’02) and Tad Abley announce the birth of Aleric Bennett on July 25, 3006. He weighed 10 lbs. 4 oz. and measured 21.75 inches. Melanie is a research associate and Ph.D. candidate at The Ohio State University in the Veterinary Preventative Medicine Department. Tad is a stay-at-home dad and works nights at Forward Air. The couple was married on May 24, 2003 and resides in Columbus, Ohio.
	Brittany Schmucker (’03) married Logan Miller on Oct. 1, 2004. They welcomed son Wyatt Alan on March 16, 2006. Logan works for M&M Construction of Berlin, Ohio, and Brittany works as a part-time office administrator for the Holmes County Chamber of Commerce in Millersburg. The family resides in Sugarcreek.
