What is Engineering?

Engineering is the application of scientific principles to provide practical solutions to problems. Professional engineers are trained to analyze problems, devise innovative solutions, plan and manage the implementation of their ideas, and assure quality control. They can be designers, planners, inventors, builders, manufacturers or managers. They are employed in private practice, in industry and in government. They work on everything from airplanes to microprocessors.
