Middle Childhood Education

All MVNU Teacher Education programs lead to licensure in the state of Ohio . A B.A. in Middle Childhood Education leads to a teaching license for grades 4-9 in two content areas. For this course of study, teacher candidates must choose two of the following concentration areas: Language arts, math, science, and social studies. It also includes 12 hours of instruction in teaching reading.

Upon completion of a Middle Childhood major, candidates apply for a two-year entry level license (Provisional). A Professional Teaching License is granted by the state of Ohio following successful completion of the Praxis III performance exam during the first or second year of teaching.
