Director of Assessment Duties

1. Prepare and submit a proposed budget for the assessment program to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and administer the same.

2. Notify department heads and other administrators of the schedule of administering various assessment instruments.

3. Collect data obtained through the various assessment procedures and present the findings to the Committee for analysis and recommendations.

4. Prepare reports on assessment results for the Assessment Program Committee, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and appropriate department chairs.

5. Inform individual students in writing of their performance on the various tests.

6. Purchase the various commercially prepared testes to be used for assessment purposes, including those used by academic departments and the Academic Profile.

7. Plan a program on assessment for a general faculty meeting at least once each year to inform faculty of the purpose of the program and to share the results of assessment.

8. Each May provide the Vice President for Academic Affairs with an annual report on the activities of the committee and the results of assessment tests for the academic year just completed.

9. Evaluate the effectiveness of the assessment program and make recommendations for improvement. It is anticipated that refinement of the entire process will take place over the next several years. Some procedures will no doubt prove to be less effective than others and modifications will be made as necessary.
